Project trip to Ibiza, day 1-3

After a long day of traveling, we all finally arrived to beautiful Ibiza. The students were greeted by their host families and we all travelled to our accomodations. In the evening, there was an international party, where all the countries in the project brought some typical food from their country. Later, we experienced local folk dance and mucic. In addtion, some of the students had to participate in the entertainment to everyones pleasure. The students instantly made new friends, and everyone had a great time. This was a perfect start of the project week.

Over the next days, the students worked on their tasks in groups. They presented themselves (task 1) to each other in various, mixed groups. When the tasks were completed, we went to the town hall where the Mayor of Ibiza talked to us about the state of the city, and we got to ask him some questions. Then, there was time for the students to do a gymkhana. They walked around the old town, recording films where they danced, answered questions and found important places around the old castle. After lunch, we were taken on a walk in the new part of the city. We walked around the harbour of Ibiza and saw some interesting architecture in an exclusive part of the town.

On Wednesday, we had a conference at school before we went on a guided trip to Ses Salinas Natural Park. We viewed the salt production areas, and walked around the National Park guided by an excellent representative from "Amics de la Terra", called Juanjo. This group does an amazing job to preserve the enviroment on Ibiza, and he enlightened us on several interesting topics. After the guided tour we had a nice time at the beach doing different activities like swimming, ultimate frisbee and volleyball.
